At this point “taking notes” is more a past time than a useful synthesis tool. But that’s ok for now because I want to lose some textual information and really get the logic. Today I learned that condensates and their formation / function is a hot bubble and people speak of it with excitement + suspicion. But since our project (function of the long “disorder” part of a protein that sits between cells during development) is dealing with experimental confirmation in real creatures I think seeing our results would break our or my bubble a bit. It also led me to see that this vision is ultimately not alone in my head, and that we want a way of thinking and seeing that can include the (more transient, not single purpose) structures. An older lady told me that she first watched a cool movie (video) of actin moving in 1970. And that it’s always hard and boring. I enjoyed hanging with her. I finally feel possible to chat easily in the car with lab mates. I don’t want just generating ungrounded theories or just making validations, I prefer problem inspired principles. Several people offer olive branches that I would need digestion time (no more input, just completion mode) to go through on. A staff came by and asked what my drawing is of, whether he can use it as a tattoo - I’m glad I’m popularizing the science already haha."
